Patricia Ann Hoar, born November 4, 1945, passed away February 26, 2013 at home with her husband and sister by her bedside. Pat was born in the Bronx, New York. She was later adopted by Helen and Lyle Startup of Ellenville, New York.
Following her graduation from Ellenville High School, she was employed by Ellenville Electric Company, Ellenville Savings Bank as the Secretary to the President, and Pawling Savings Bank as Corporate Secretary. Pat met her future husband, c, while working at the Ellenville Savings Bank. They were married on August 28, 1982 at the home of Ed's parents, Edwin and Terrie Hoar. In November of 1988, Pat and Ed relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. Pat was employed by the Imperial Palace as Secretary to the Chief of Security. In 1995, Pat joined the Clark County District Attorney's office as an Administrative Specialist in the VWAC Unit.
Pat was beloved by her husband, family, friends and co-workers for her love, kindness, patience and generosity. She adored her cats, Coco and Cleo. There are no words to describe how much she is loved and missed.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Lyle Startup of Ellenville, New York, and brothers, Robert Osterhoudt of Ellenville, New York, and Edward Osterhoudt of Homer, New York.
Pat is survived by her husband, Edwin E. Hoar III, of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters, Joan Rogers of Dallas, Pennsylvania, and Kim Carey (Bruce) of Kerrville, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, mother-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law in Texas and New York.
Visitation will be at Palm Eastern, Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 1pm-3pm followed by the funeral service at 3pm. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW, the Shriner's Hospital, or the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary of Utah.
