[[Obituary:
Paul "Don" Horr
Born in Powell, Wyoming on May 20, 1917, to Allison and Helen Rhodes Horr, passed away on November 2, with his wife of 65 years, Virginia, at his side. His mother passed away when he was just 13 years old. He worked in the furniture factory and was a bantam weight wrestler and boxer. He joined the Citizen's Conservation Corps during The Depression. He always said that President Roosevelt saved his young life. Don and Virginia loved fishing, golfing, clam digging, crabbing, gardening and dancing. They met at a dance when they were
both 18, and belonged to the "Mr. and Mrs. Dance Club" for over 40 years. Don was a long time member of the Tacoma Elks Club and the Westport Washington
VFW. He served in the Army in the Aleutian Islands during WW II. He was a carpet layer for many years (Local Union 1238) and retired from the City of Tacoma Municipal Courts. He is survived by his wife Virginia, daughter Dolores and husband James Warren of Tacoma, daughter Donelda and husband David Rostedt of Montesano, grandson Darin Warren, granddaughters Darcel Reynolds and Erica Rostedt, and great-grandson Nathaniel Reynolds. He was a wonderful father to his two daughters. A service will be held at Piper Funeral Home on
November 7, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Multi-Care Hospice of Tacoma, c/o Group Health, P.O. Box 5296, Tacoma, WA 98415. A special thank you to Tina of Hospice and Angie, Dawn and Toni of the Visiting
Angels. Dad has gone fishing! Pub Date: 11/5/2002
