      HOAR, COL. WILLIAM J., (RET.), 76, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at Hospice & Palliative Care of Louisville's inpatient unit at Norton Healthcare Pavilion. He was a native of Brooklyn, NY, a retired Army veteran with 24 years of service, past president and member of South Park Country Club and a member of American Legion Post #246, Moose Lodge #5 and the Retired Officers Association. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Thomas Hoar. He is survived by his wife, Gerry Hoar; three daughters, Teri DeWeerd, Susan Hoar and Janet West; three sons, John, Mike, and Kenny Hoar; brother Joseph Hoar; sister, Mary Crowley; and nine grandchildren. His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 7333 Southside Dr., with entombment in Evergreen Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mass of the Air or Hospice of Louisville.
