Memorial services for Harold Hoar of Orangevale will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Private burial will take place at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City. Mr. Hoar died Friday, Dec. 31, in Orangevale. He was 90. He was born Feb. 8, 1914, in Stockton, to Henry Hubert and Frances E. Willard (Downs) Hoar. He married Lucille on Feb. 9, 1934, in Lakeview, Ore. He was a carpenter. He enjoyed horseshoes and poker.He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and George Wallace, and Joann and Albert Rossi; son and daughter-in-law, Hank and Vickie Harr; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Mae Hoar on Dec. 19, 1984. Contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C., 20013, or to the Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California, P.O. Box 1824, Sacramento 95812. Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
