Rosella B. (Pyle) Hoar, 92, Boswell, died July 20, 2010, at her home. Born Feb. 1, 1918, in Coal Run. Daughter of Elmer and Edna (Sheets) Pyle. Preceded in death by parents, husband Irvin E. on Dec. 29, 1983, son Irvin Jay, infant grandson Henry Albert Hoar, great-grandson Jerad Hoar, brother Bernard Pyle, sister Pauline King, and son-in-law Edward Zuravnsky. Survived by children Shirley F. married to Frank Pacifico, Pinehurst, N.C. Mary Elaine Zuravnsky, Boswell, and Bernard J. married to former Judith Cover, Boswell; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; brother Jim Pyle and wife Shirley, Somerset; daughter-in-law Erma Jean Hoar, Boswell RD; sister-in-law Betty Pyle, Mechanicsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired employee of former Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory, Boswell. Attended the Boswell Church of God. Rosella enjoyed painting ceramics. The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice for all their support. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. David McGinnis presiding. Interment Jenner Crossroads Cemetery. Donations in Rosella's memory may be sent to the Boswell Church of God, 623 Main St., Boswell, PA 15531.

Pauline G. King, 85, of Penn Hills, died March 27, 2007.
Born in Boswell, she was the daughter of Elmer and Edna (Sheets) Pyle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph King.
Surviving are her sons, Richard and his wife, Cheryl, and Craig King and his wife, Judi; brother, James Pyle; sister, Rosella Hoar; and three grandchildren.
Friends were received at William F. Gross Funeral Home. A service was held at Rosedale United Methodist Church. Interment was at Restland Memorial Park.

PYLE ? H. James "Jim," 86, Somerset, formerly of Stoystown, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Nov. 30, 2014, at Somerset In Touch Hospice House. Born Nov. 8, 1928, in Boswell, son of Elmer and Edna (Sheets) Pyle. Preceded in death by parents; infant son, Rodney; brother, Bernard; and sisters, Pauline King and Rosella Hoar. Survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Shirley Bauman; sons, Douglas, married to the former Cathy Murray, Greencastle; and Jeffrey, married to the former Amy McClintock, Friedens; grandchildren, Serena Uglow, Kelly (Mark) Bowman, Stacy (Woody) Williamson and Adam and Julie Pyle; and great-grandchildren, Brianna Uglow, Brooklyn and Tyler Williamson, Kayla Reed and Sommer Bowman. He was a 1946 graduate of Jenner Boswell Joint High School and a 1979 graduate of UPJ with a degree in education. Former mechanic at BJ Maurer and Mardis Motors, and auto mechanic instructor at Johnstown and Admiral Perry Vo-Tech schools. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Stoystown. Past president of Stoystown Lions Club. Member of Somerset Lodge 358 F&AM and Altoona-Johnstown Tres Dias. He loved his family and all sports, especially rooting for the Pirates. Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where a Lions service will be held at 6 p.m. Viewing also will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Stoystown, Pastor Sharon Fox, officiating.
