      Obituary:
      DELANEY, Ruth Myrtle
      DELANEY, Ruth Myrtle - Onslow Mountain Road, Belmont, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 6, 2007, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, in her 91st year. Ruth was born in Truro, on September 28, 1916, and was the eldest daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel (Slauenwhite) Hoar. She lived in Hilden, Colchester Co., then moved to Belmont where she resided for 60 years. Ruth was very active in her early years, enjoying outdoor activities such as skating, cross country skiing and long walks. She was a lifetime member of the Atlantic Baptist Women's Missionary group and a member of Belmont Baptist Church where she was organist for many years. She was a member of the Attic Painters, Truro. She is survived by sons, Gerald D., Middle Stewiacke; Rev. Gordon A., Tatamagouche; Alan C., Powell River, B.C.; daughter, Karen Ruth and Don Turner, Belmont; her 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred A. Anderson, New Glasgow; Dorothy Russell, Tracadie,
      N.B.; brother, George (Hilda) Hoar, Fox Harbour. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil H. Delaney. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today, and memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, September 9, all in Mattatall Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro, with Rev. Gordon Delaney and Rev. Andy Crowell officiating. A reception will then follow in the funeral home. For those wishing to remember Mother by a donation, it may be made to the Belmont Cemetery Company or Belmont United Baptist Church.
