Obituary:
Mary Alice Horr, 69, former Muncie resident, died Saturday morning in a Toledo, Ohio hospital. She had lived in Toledo the past three years.
She was born in Muncie, the daughter of Cleo Virgil and Treva Lucille Hamil Badders, and graduated from Central High School in 1936.
Mrs. Horr was employed in the Delaware County Civil Defense office, working for director Marshall Sipe for six years. Prior to that she was employed at Warner Gear Division (now Borg-Warner Automotive, Transmission Systems) and McCormick Brothers Co. at Albany.
She was a 50-year member of First Baptist Church and a member of Warner Gear Sympathy Club.
Surviving are her husband, Billy Horr, a member of the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame for basketball; a daughter, Melissa (Mrs. Kenneth) Greenwalt, and a grandson, Kevin Greenwalt, both of Lambertville, Mich.; two brothers, John Badders, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and William E. Badders, Muncie; a sister, Phyllis Harter, Knoxville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be in Meeks Mortuary Chapel at 10 a.m. on Tuesday with Rev. Daniel Mattox, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Entombment will be in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Calling hours at the mortuary are 5-8 p.m. Monday or before services Tuesday.
Memorials may be sent to the Youth Fellowship at First Baptist Church.
