Obituary:
A memorial service for Paul C. Simmons Jr., a business executive in St. Louis for many years, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church, 9450 Clayton Road, Ladue. Burial will be private.
Mr. Simmons, 77, of Creve Coeur, died Feb. 9, 1997, of pneumonia at Memorial Home in St. Louis.
Since 1962, he owned Simpact Point of Sales, an advertising display business. Earlier, he was president of Simmons-Sisler Printing Co., a promotional and commercial printing firm.
He was active in the Mississippi Valley Junior Achievement and in the Cornell Club of St. Louis.
He was also a benefactor and board member of the Camping & Education Foundation, which owns and operates Camp Kooch-i-Ching boys camp in International Falls, Minn.
Mr. Simmons was born and raised in St. Louis. He earned a degree in civil engineering from Cornell University in Ithica, N.Y., and served as a lieutenant in the Navy in World War II.
Among the survivors are his wife, Ann Horr Simmons; a daughter, Susan L. Ganzenmuller of Potomac, Md.; three sons, Paul C. Simmons III of Kirkwood, George M. Simmons of Denver and Dr. David H. Simmons of Castro Valley, Calif.; a sister, Marianne Simmons Douthett of Burlington, Vt.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
