Deceased Name: ARTHUR MCGINLEY
Arthur B. McGinley, 84, of RD 1, Besaw Road, died Saturday at a local nursing home following a brief illness.
A native of Syracuse, he had resided in the Phoenix area since 1941. His wife, the former Elizabeth M. Doss, died in 1983. Mr. McGinley was a professional musician who taught guitar lessons at his home and at Gross Music in Oswego. He was also a member of the Beachcombers Band in Syracuse for many years. He was a member of the Onondaga Musicians Union and the Oswego County Musicians Union, Local 267-441. He was a school bus driver for the Phoenix Central School district for 17 years.
He was a junior and senior New York State trap shooting champion and was a member of the Pathfinder Fish and Game Club in Fulton.
Surviving are three daughters, Charlotte H. Horr of Hannibal; Bearnice E. Whipple and Gail P. Denery, both of Palermo; three sons, Benjamin E. of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Frederick H. of Hannibal, and Ronald A. of Palermo; two brothers, Millard of Central Square and Bernard ''Spike'' of East Syracuse; 32 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Foster Funeral Home, Rev. William J. Brown officiating. Burial will be at Roosevelt Cemetery, Schroeppel. Calling hours are 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 910 Fay Street. Contributions may be made to McFee Memorial Ambulance Service, Watson Avenue, Mexico.
