[[Obituary:
Helen M. Hoar, 90, of 115 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, died Thursday afternoon at home after a lengthy
illness.
Born in Locustdale, February 13, 1901, she was a daughter of the late Mathias and Elizabeth (Schnee)
Spieles. She was educated in Locustdale schools and was a lifelong Mount Carmel resident.
Mrs. Hoar was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel.
Preceding her in death was her husband Andrew.
Surviving are two sons, Francis, of Levittown, and Thomas, of Hatboro; three daughters, Margaret
Hosgood, Helen Blas?e, and Marian Blas?e, all of Mount Carmel; a sister, Mary Corrigan, of Ashland;
eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church by
Monsignor Joseph Bradley. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fountain Springs. C.J. Lucas
Funeral Home Inc., Mount Carmel, is in charge of arrangements.

Matthew Spieles
Matthew V. Spieles, 65 Middle Street, Locustdale, died unexpectedly at his home Thursday afternoon. He was born in Ashland, November 6, 1891, son of the late Matthew and Elizabeth (Schnee) Spieles and was a resident of Locustdale most of his life.
He was a retired miner, last employed at the Potts Colliery. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Locustdale, and a veteran of World War. I.
He is survived by one son, James, of Girardville; sisters and brothers, Mrs. Elizabeth Madden, of Ashland; Mrs. Catherine Langan, of Girardville; Mrs. Helen Hoar, of Mount Carmel; Mrs. Anna Moraskie, at home; Mary, wife of Thomas Corrigan, of Ashland; Vincent, of Ashland; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday morning from the Kull Funeral Home, Ashland with Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, Locustdale. Interment will be in St. Mauritius Cemetery, Ashland.
