Notes - Lloyd joined Navy in 1937 and was a Medic with the Marine Corps. One tour of duty was on Guadal Canal in 1942-1943. He retired from Navy after approx 25 years service.

Obituary:
Services for Lloyd E Canaday, 62, 307 E Adams Street will be held Saturday at 2:30 p m at the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham. The Rev David Kennedy will officiate with interment in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be by the Birmingham American Legion Post 181.
Canaday died Thursday morning at Jefferson Co Hospital after a lengthy illness.
The son of Elmer and Edna Jackson Canaday, he was born Nov 23 1915 at Birmingham He married Sarah Bunker on June 21 1939 at Fairfield CA.
Also surviving are a son Allan Canaday CA his mother Edna Canaday Birmingham four brothers Earl, Birmingham Dean Fairfield Robert, DeWitt John, Boulder CO one sister Karen Snyder, Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his father one brother and one sister.
Canaday retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service then he was employed by the state of California for 15 years He was a member of the Fleet Reserve of Ottumwa and the Walton Club of Fairfield
