Richard E. Robinson, Died May 8, 2002. NORTHPORT---Richard E. "Dick" Robinson, 85, of Northport, died Wednesday afternoon, May 8, 2002, at Leelenau Memorial Hospital. He was born July 31, 1916, to the Rev. William and Ann Robinson in Middleton. On September 28, 1941, he married the former Jean Hahn, who preceded him in death in 1998. Dick graduated from Michigan State College and University of Michigan Law School. He served his country honorably as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division during World War II, and was awarded the Silver Star for heroism. He continued to serve in the Selective Service, and retired as a colonel. Dick practiced law in Eaton Rapids, until his election to the 5th Circuit Court in 1967. He served Eaton and Barry Counties as a circuit court judge until his retirement in 1982, when he and Jean moved to Northport. Dick is survived by one sister, Elizabeth (George) Randall, of Santa Clarita, Calif.; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Furney of Traverse City, Edith Robinson of Hastings and Charlotte Robinson of New York; three children: Ann (William) Hotchkiss of Washington, Mich., Patrick Robinson and Linda Robinson of Eaton Rapids, and Jane Ives of Berrien Springs; two grandchildren, Peter and Annie Ives of Berrien Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial srevice will be held on Satuday, May 11, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Trinity UCC of Northport.
