- [[Obituary: HOAR, Eleanor (McCarthy)
Eleanor (McCarthy) Hoar, the wife of Joseph T. Hoar, died Saturday, (January 17, 2004) at her home in Newington where she had lived the past 43 years. Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Timothy and Bridie (O'Shea) McCarthy, she was a graduate of Weaver High School in Hartford. Eleanor worked at the Aetna Life and Casualty Company for several years and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Newington. She is survived by her husband Joseph, her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Kenneth Russell of Wallingford; her grandchildren, Daniel Joseph Russell and Hannah Shea Russell; her sister, Lucille Flanagan of Wethersfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marie Vaughan and June Perry. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 21 beginning with calling hours from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, and followed by the celebration of her funeral mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Willard Ave., Newington. Burial will follow in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association of Connecticut, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford 06108. PERRY, June (McCarthy)
June (McCarthy) Perry, the widow of Edwin ''Ted'' Perry, died Sunday, (February 16, 2003) at her home in West Hartford. Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Timothy and Bridie (O'Shea) McCarthy, she had made her home in West Hartford for over 39 years. June was a graduate of Hartford High School, a member of the West Hartford Belles, and a communicant of St. Brigid Church. She was a retired employee of the State of Connecticut, last working in land acquisitions for the Department of Environmental Protection. Mrs. Perry is survived by her son, David of West Hartford; her daughter, Catherine of Charlestown, MA; her son Steven, his wife Laurie; and her granddaughter, Megan all of Bristol. Her two sisters, Eleanor Hoar of Newington, Lucille Flanagan of Wethersfield; and several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews also survive her. She was predeceased by her sister, Marie Vaughan. Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 20, 10:30 a.m. from the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, Elmwood. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. There are no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38103.
