  He died at the home of his son Abei in Corvallis from a stroke in the Apoplexy he slipped into a coma about lunch time and never regained consciousness. Of his importance one can only say that his impending death stopped the presses of the daily Corvallis Gazette to print his obituary on the morning after his death on the front page. Lucy Ann was named the executor of his will.
