  Postem Date: Sep 12, 2009 From: Eva Myrick Email: answayla(at)yahoo.com Elvira J. Ostrander was the adopted daughter of Rev. Uriah Wood and Hannah Kline. Uriah and his family left New York State and settled in Hume, Whiteside County, Illinois in 1839. Errected a cabin on section 16. Stayed there until the fall of 1840. Then the family moved to Lee county for a short time. Uriah and the family next moved to Earlville, LaSalle County, Illinois. You can locate Elvira living with Uriah in the 1850 census there. At the time of Uriah's death per his obit he was living with Elvira and George. Years later when Hannah Kline-Wood died in Aurora, Kane County, Illinois she was living with with Elvira and George.
