The subject of this sketch was born in Mechanicsburg Oct. 5,1856; he attended the local school in his early youth, and later, attended the Urbana University, but his father being unable to attend to the duties of County Clerk, he left school when in the senior class, and has since been employed in fiduciary duties, having occupied the position of Deputy County Clerk the past five years, and was recently elected Clerk of Urbana City.
