Information was sent in a letter from a distant Hoare cousin who lived in Ashford, Kent, England, to Bertram Hoare, a cousin to Lura Lincoln Cook in December 1987. Here is the content of the letter: Well Cottage Bilting Ashford, Kent TN25 4HD 19 July 1987 Dear Mr. Hoare, After your visit to us I have tried to get you the information concerning your Grandfather and Great-Grandfather in Godmersham. The following facts taken from the church registers are the best I can do. The father of Joseph Hoare (1850) is given as Henry Hoare and not John. Henry and Sarah Hoare lived in Godmersham Court for 40 years, and then moved to Wye where they died. They had 13 children as follows -- with dates of Baptisms and anything else I have found. Baptised 1. Sarah Elizabeth 26/1/1840 2. Edward 17/10/1841 3. Thomas 6/8/1843 buried 26/1/1869 4. John 25/5/1845 5. James Dodd 28/2/1847 6. Emma 26/1/1849 married James Castle of Wye 12/6/1867 7. JOSEPH 26/1/1851 married Harriet Newport 23/7/1870 8. Henry 31/10/1852 9. Frederick 3/10/1854 died in infancy, buried 8/10/1854 10. Ellen 11/11/1855 11. Emily Ann 31/1/1858 12. Celia 14/8/1859 13.
