      GENERAL JOHN L. HOAR
      April 3, 1981
      WHEREAS, General John L. Hoar, the husband of Trustee Luva M. Hoar,
      departed t h i s earthly l i f e on March 30, 1981, and
      WHEREAS, Having flown 83 combat missions over Europe as a B-26 p i l o t
      i n World War 11, having served as a Group Commander during
      the Korean Conflict, having been awarded the Army A i r Medal
      with f i v e c l u s t e r s and t h e S i l v e r Star for valor, and having
      served as Assistant Adjutant General of Connecticut, General
      Hoar was a noted c i t i z e n of our State, and
      WHEREAS, General Hoar was well known to the Trustees for h i s concern
      for others, for h i s unfailing good humor even i n d i f f i c u l t
      circumstances and for h i s charitable works, most p a r t i c u l a r l y
      h i s work with the Masonic Shrine i n support of children's
      h o s p i t a l s , therefore be it
      RESOLVED, That the Trustees express t h e i r sorrow and deep sense of l o s s
      a t the passing of General Hoar, and be it
      RESOLVED, That the Trustees extend t h e i r condolences to M r s . Hoar and to
      the children of M r s . Hoar and General Hoar.
