James Douglas "Doug" Horr of Gresham, a former resident of Enterprise, died Jan. 1, 2013, at the age of 93.
He was born in Great Falls, Mont., to James and Ellen Horr. He received his schooling in Gresham, graduating from high school there. He served in the U.S. Army England during World War II, specializing in radar and electronics.
He was married to his wife Opal, a war widow, May 28, 1949, in Gresham. Doug ran a radio and television repair and sales business, and also worked for the Hilton Hotel in Portland in sound and lighting for its ballroom. He was a volunteer firefighter in Gresham.
He and Opal moved to Wallowa County after he retired, and lived here for about 10 years, moving back to Gresham in 2005. They were both involved in the MidValley Theatre Company and were members of the Lostine Presbyterian Church, as well as South Fork Grange.
He is survived by sons Rolla T. Harding of Oregon City, Randal D. Horr of Troutdale and Regan J. Horr of Gresham, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife Opal.
Military services will be held at the Willamette National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11.
