      Deceased Name: John F. Hoar, 66, banker, civic leader
      John F. Hoar, 66, of 113 Forest Glen, a senior vice president and lending officer of Fleet Bank, died Friday at home. He retired in 1993 after 32 years. Born in Springfield, he was a 1948 graduate of Cathedral High School, a 1952 bachelor of arts degree graduate from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, and attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
      He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a communicant of the Sacred Heart Church in Springfield.
      He chaired the United Way Annual Small Business Division Drive and annual area campaigns of the Cancer Society.
      He sat on the board of the former Springfield Hospital, the Eastern States Exposition, Our Lady of Providence Children's Center, the Springfield Business Development Corporation, the Chicopee Development Corporation, and the Children's Study Home.
      He also served on the town's Finance Committee and the Mercy Hospital finance committee.
      He was a member of the Springfield Country Club, the West Springfield Rotary Club, and the Holy Cross Alumni Club of the Pioneer Valley.
      He leaves his wife, Patricia M. (Ross) Hoar; a son, Michael J. of San Francisco; three daughters, Christine M. Hoar of Burlington, Vt., Aileen M. Lever of Agawam, and Kathleen M. Ghiloni of Boston; a sister, Mary E. Moore of San Leandro, Calif.
      The funeral will be Monday morning at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home and the church, with the burial at St. Michael's Cemetery in Springfield.
      The calling hours are Sunday afternoon and evening, and memorial contributions may be made to the Pioneer Valley Hospice, 50 Maple St., Springfield, or Brightside for Families and Children, 2112 Riverdale St., West Springfield, 01089.
