She was 93 years old and had lived at Ohana Villa Adult Family Home in Oak Harbor, WA, for the past 15 months. Dorothy was born in Tacoma, WA, on July 17th, 1915, to David and Hannah Olson. She was the oldest of six siblings. She married Clifford Horr on June 8th, 1937. They lived most of their married lives in the Tacoma area on Dash Point in NE Tacoma. Cliff worked for the railroad and Dorothy was a homemaker. She loved gardening, activities in her church and swimming in the Puget Sound. She was very involved in leading women's Bible studies at Our Savior's Baptist Church in Federal Way, and in Christian Women's Clubs. After Cliff passed away in 1993 she moved to Whidbey Island to be near her son, Pastor Cliff Horr Jr, and attended the San de Fuca Community Chapel. Dorothy loved the Lord Jesus and loved the Word of God. She regularly visited nursing homes to read the Bible to residents and was always looking for ways to share her faith. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, and her son Jim in 2002. She is survived by her daughter Cathy Hansen and husband Frosty, of Hudsonville, MI; son Cliff and wife Casey of Oak Harbor, WA; Grandchildren Jamie Garcia, John Horr, Jennifer Aubrecht, Danielle Dykhuis, Traynor Hansen III, Gary Hansen, Emily Dante, Bethany Horr and Mindy Horr; and 13 great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Bud Olson, Warren Olson, Judy Oliver of Tacoma and Dick Olson of Des Moines, WA. One sister, Miriam Covach, preceded her in death. A Graveside Service was held at New Tacoma Cemetary on Tuesday, December 2nd at 1:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the San de Fuca Chapel in Coupeville, WA on Saturday, December 13th, at 1:00 PM. Remembrances can be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators or the San de Fuca Chapel. Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor, was entrusted with arrangements.
