Undated obituary from the scrapbook of Georgia Pangborn:
Mrs. Hoar Rites Friday July 2, 1976. Funeral services for Elsie A. Hoar, 83, of Levering, will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Nordman Funeral Home in Cheboygan. Interment will be in the Carp Lake Township Cemetery. Mrs. Hoar died Tuesday evening at Lockwood-McDonald Hospital. She was born Elsie A. Williams on May 27, 1893 in Washington, Ind. She moved with her family to Ohio and Illinois before coming to the Levering area in 1903. She has lived there ever since. On April 1, 1913, she was married to Samuel Hoar in Levering. He preceded her in death in 1956. Mrs. Hoar was an active member of the Emmet County Farm Bureau and in recent years was an active member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. (Lester) Beatrice Kalbfleisch, Mrs. John (Hilda) VanLoh of Salem, Oregon; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren; a niece and several nephews. Pallbearers were: Walter Beach, Raymond Kalbfleisch, Alva Hoar, Ralph and Dale Williams, Torbin Brun, Judy Kalbfleisch's husband.
