Undated clipping from the notebook of Georgia Pangborn:
Levering Lady Dies after Being Hurt in Auto Crash. Mrs. George Sparks of Levering died yesterday at the Community Memorial Hospital where she was a patient since being injured on Nov. 19, in an auto accident. She was 66 years old. Her neck was injured in a collision on the Levering Road between a car driven by her husband and an auto driven by Kenneth Ayotte, 16 years old of Route 3, Cheboygan, on the evening of Nov. 19. Kenneth was backing out of his driveway, a mile west of Cheboygan, and State Police said that his car stalled crosswise on the highway. Mr. Sparks declared he did not see lights on the Ayotte auto, and did not notice it crosswise on the road until too late to stop and avoid a collosion. Kenneth was issued a court summons by State Police at the time charging him with being a delinquent minor for failure to yield right of way, However the hospital reported today that the cause of death was not due directly to her injuries from the auto accident. Mrs. Sparks was born in Levering on April 10, 1889. She is survived by her husband; one son, John A. of Detroit; a sister, Violet Hoar of Portland Oregon; two brothers, Sam D. Hoar and Levi Hoar of Levering and 3 grandchildren. The body is at the Nordman Funeral Home where services will be conducted on Tuesday at 2 p.m. by Rev. John Lockyer of Levering. Burial will be in the Carp Lake Cemetery.
