Phyllis was born in Grand Rapids, Minn. to Theodore and Lily Tinquist. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1952. She married Bart Hoard Dec. 18, 1954. Her husband's career moved them to Superior, Wis., and Willmar, Litchfield and Bovey, Minn., and eventually to Cohasset in 1971. Her two greatest passions were serving the Lord Jesus Christ - her savior- and her family. Her love of music was shared in her church, Community Bible Chapel in Cohasset where she was a member for over 40 years, with singing and playing the piano and organ. She also shared her love of music with her eight children by encouraging each of them to play instruments and/or sign in church and school choirs. She watched her children's involvement in school activities and music and sports, which was later replaced with grandchildren's activities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bart, in 2003; her mother, Lily, in 2001; and her father, Ted, in 1997. Service: Visitation: 5-7p.m. on Sunday, July 24 in the Libbey Funeral Home. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. July 25 at Grace Bible Chapel in Grand Rapids. Burial: Wildwood Cemetery, Cohasset. Arrangements by Libbey Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, Minn.
