Baker, 64 years old, a widely know Johnson County farmer who retired a month ago, was found dead in a tourist cabin at Miami, Ok., Saturday afternoon, according to word received today at Olathe, Kas. Sheriff Emmett Pitt of Johnson County, who contacted Oklahoma authorities, said Mr. Baker died of heart disease sometime Friday night. A brother of Robert Baker, a former Johnson County probate judge, now of Haviland, Kas., Walter F. Baker was born and reared in the Belleview community, ten miles northeast of Olathe. Last November 4, he held a farm sale, disposing of his farm equipment. He retained ownership of a 280-acre farm however. He and his wife had been in Phoenix, Ariz., visiting a son, Dale M. Baker. Last week he returned to Olathe on business. He was on the way back to Phoenix when he was stricken. Besides his widow, his son, and brother, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Edith Baldwin, Dallas, Tex. George Raymond Duplisea, 62, of 10 Grove St., Wauregan, died Tuesday at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London. He was born on Dec. 29, 1937, in Topsfield, Maine, the son of the late John and Dorothy Poole Duplisea. He married Jacqueline Savoie on Nov. 29, 1959, at St. James Church in Danielson. She died on July 9, 1965. He later married Gertrude Lefrancois on Feb. 24, 1968, at St. James Church in Danielson. Mr. Duplisea graduated from Brewer High School in 1956. Mr. Duplisea worked at Acme Cotton Co. in East Killingly, where he did carding. He later was employed as an assembler at Electro-Motive in Willimantic. He worked in shipping and receiving from 1960 to 1971 at Allied Control in Wauregan, and from 1971 to 1987 at Pervel Industries in Plainfield. He also worked at Danco in Putnam. His last place of employment was at C&M in Wauregan, where he retired in 1989 due to complications from diabetes. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Danielson, and the Knights of Columbus in Danielson. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Wauregan and enjoyed music, fishing and hunting. In addition to his wife, he is survived by six sons, Scott R. Duplisea of Willimantic, Mark A. Duplisea of Ledyard, Glen A. Duplisea of East Killingly, Matthew J. Duplisea of Wauregan, Michael J. Duplisea of Plainfield, and Guy R. Duplisea of Danielson; two brothers, David Duplisea Sr. of Jonesville, N.C., and Walter Hooper Sr. of Brewer, Maine; and two grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, he was predeceased by two sisters, Muriel Lee and Eleanor Hoar. The funeral will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Gagnon-Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Wauregan. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Calling hours are 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
