12363 | http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:2368416&id=I1965 Obiturary in the Randolph (N.Y.) Register dated July 25, 1902. Death of Mrs. Wildey-a long and useful life ended at Conewango Valley Died, at Conewango Valley, July 10 1902, Mrs. Murilla Hoard Wildey was born in Berlin Mass., July 12 1814, and was 88 years old. Her family emigrated to New York state when she was a child, and settled at Conewango. She was married to Josha Wildey, Dec 1 1833. She was the mother of ten children, five of whom are living as follows: Mrs. Mary Hildum, Randolph; William Wildey,Cherry Creek; Mrs. Alice Bentley, Conowango; DeEtta Powers, Prairieburg, Iowa. Milton Hoard of Conewango is a brother of the deceased. Her husband died a number of years ago. The funeral was held at the church, Conewango Valley, July 12th. Mrs. Lula Wightman of Canandaigua, N.Y., a minister of the Seveneth Day Adventist denomination officiating, and was attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives. Interment at Clear Creek Cemetery. [[ Potential problem: She was born after her "mother" died. Needs further research. She may possibly be daughter-in-law. Possibly wife of Nathaniel Hoard. Nathaniel Hoard died Nov 27, 1832 and Marilla Hoard married Joshua Wildey on Dec 1, 1833. If that was the case then it is also possible that Nathaniel may be the father of John Milton Hoard born May 1830. http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=hoardresearch There is some question as to who the mother is of Marilla (b July 1814), Emmett (b 1824) and John Milton (b 1830). The father is proven as Samuel G Hoard from the following document. To The Surrogate of the County of Cattaraugus The Petition of Caroline Hoard of the Town of Conewango in the County of Cattaraugus respectfully showeth That Samuel G. Hoard of the Town of Conewango in the said County of Cattaraugus died in the said town of Connewango on or about the twenty seventh day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy four. That at the time of his death he was an inhabitant of the County of Cattaraugus. That he left no will, as far as your petitioner has heard, or been able to discover: That he left your petitioner his widow, and Franklin Hoard, Lorenzo Hoard, Anna Hoard, Emmett Hoard, Milton Hoard, Marrilla Wildey, Mary Ann Shaw -- his childen and heirs at law him surviving. That your petitioner, and said Franklin, Anna, Milton reside in the town of Conewango in said County, Emmett Hoard resides in Randolph in said County, Marrilla Wildey resides in the Town of Ellington in the County of Chautauqua, Mary Ann Shaw resides at Skaneateles in the County Onondaga. All of said children are of full age except said Anna Hoard who is an infant of the age of 17 years, That your petitioner is the widow of said deceased. And your petitioner further showeth, that all the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased do not exceed in value the sum of three hundred Dollars: and your petitioner prays that Letter of Administration of the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased may be granted by the Surrogate to your petitioner. Dated: December 31, 1874 ss Caroline Hoard | Hoard, Marilla (I40726)

Clifford was born in Detroit, Michigan and given the name of William Hobart. His mother Glydie Mae Copp [NI:117:NI] gave him to Mr. and Mrs. Will Crampton who took him to raise. They took him to Toledo, Ohio and changed his name to Clifford Minret Crampton [NI:25:NI]. It was assumed that the Crampton's were going to adopt him, however they never did. Glydie stayed in contact with Clifford and when he was a teenager he was told that she was his mother. The Crampton's died when he was about 16. This was during the depression years and Clifford hopped on a freight train. He rode freight trains around the country until 1936 when he married Neta. Clifford worked in the Oil Fields and Ship Yards all over the county. In 1951 Clifford and Neta seperated and he went to Michigan. After Neta's death in 1960 Clifford married Reva Fantera [NI:1723:NI]. Clifford retired and moved to Ely, Nevada where he died in 1982. His Remains were willed to the University of Nevada in Reno for medical research.
