    "LEWIS DWIGHT. B.A. ; M.A., McKendree College, 1840. Born July 22, 1813, Thompson, Conn. Brother of No. 16. Principal of Mount Vernon Academy, 111., 1838-41 ; Edwardsville Academy, 111., 1843. Afterwards principal of High School, Payson, 111. Taught in Mount Pleasant Collegiate Institute, Iowa, and else where, 1848-54. Principal of North Hebron Institute, N. Y., 1854-56. Joined Troy Conference, M. E. Church, 1856. Stationed successively at Bristol and Salisbury, Vt, Chester, Mass., Nassau and Petersburg, N. Y., 1856-63. Retired from conference, 1863. In business in Boston, Mass., 1863-73. Resided in Dudley, Mass., preaching part of the time, 1873-81. Soon after went to St. Louis, Mo. Died December 24, 1891, St. Louis, Mo. Married March 24, 1840, Mahala Pennington Casey, who died March, 1841. Married June 4, 1843, Ruth G. Ryder, of Massachusetts, who died 1844. Married April 6, 1848, Jane E. Hoar, of Payson, 111., who died 1854. Married April 26, 1860, Mrs. Louisa B. Dixon, of Dudley, Mass., who died. Married a lady in St. Louis ; deceased. Children : Samuel Lewis, b. March 15, 1841; Wilbur Fisk, b. July 5, 1844; Eliza- beth Susan, b. May 8, 1849, m. Louis Gravelle; Quincy, b. May 30, 1854; also one son (deceased). "
