News, developments and plans
10 Oct 2017: I have extended the Research and Information and GEDCOM section to include a downloadable spreadsheet 'Birth 1880+' which contains details of the 1300 Hore/Hoar/Hoare male descendants born 1880-1911, allowing visitors to the website with male Hore/Hoar/Hoare descendents born before 1911 to search for matches.
21 August 2017: I have extended the Research and Information to Research, Information and GEDCOM to allow downloading of GEDCOM files.
22 July 2017: I have extended the range of the project to include Kent, Surrey and Berkshire, and the results are in ‘Hoare Genealogy 09’ and an updated ‘Hoare Genealogy 08’. I have also taken the opportunity to reorganise the website to provide, I hope, clearer reporting of the project and better liaison with the H600 Project.
10 Feb 2017: I have included in almost all sections much more detailed references to the relevant family branches and current DNA results in the H600 Project and added the H600 family branches to 'Map families coastal'. I hope this will make this date more accessible and helpful to the Project. An update to William Acton's 'Hoare of Greens Norton Pedigree' is also included, and a few other items.
05 Dec 2016: I have updated the 'Hoare Genealogy 08' section to include more research by William Acton into the Hore of Greens Norton family, and the discovery by DNA-STR matching of the link of the Hore of Greens Norton family to the Orr family of Utah and Idaho, USA and Alberta, Canada.
17 Oct 2016: I have restructured the website to be more compatible with Google indexing.
20 Sep 2016: I have updated ‘Hoare Genealogy 02 & 04’, ‘Genealogy Bovey Tracey’ and ‘Genealogy Chagford’ to take account of and be consistent with William Acton’s ‘Hore of Risford Pedigree’ (in the Research and Information’ page).
16 Sep 2016: I have added a new section ‘Research and Information’ which includes reports of original research by William Action of Hoare’s Bank (C.Hoare & Co of Fleet Street, London) and by Richard J Hoare, as well as various other informal genealogies for reference.
18 Aug 2106: I have updated as follows:
(1) adding the Hoare genealogy centred near Poole in Dorset and published by David Weatherill (family branch K05 in the H600 project) to the Axminster Hore/Hoar/Hoare family in ‘Hoare Genealogy 06’.
(2) adding the Hore genealogy published by Shona Hore (family branch B02 in the H600 project) to the Roche/St Austell Hore/Hoar/Hoare family in ‘Hoare Genealogy 05’.
(3) adding references to the Greens Norton (Buckinghamshire) family in ‘Hoare Genealogy 08’ to sources giving the descendants of Edward Hoare (b.1621 in Greens Norton) and Henry Hoare (b.c.1602 in Walton) which include respectively the Hoare of Annabella family and the current Hoare’s Bank family (family branches K01 and K02 in the H600 project)
18 July 2016: I have enhanced and strengthened the ‘Hoare Genealogy 08’ (Buckinghamshire/ Oxfordshire) section by including the substantial Hoare family researched by Malcolm Hoare (2003) which originated at Leckhampton near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire but migrated in the 1620s to Tackley north of Oxford (family branch B05 in the H600 project). I have amended the Cuddesdon Hore/Hoar/Hoare family accordingly.
29 Jun 2016: My initial plans are to explore currently published Hore/Hoar/Hoare family trees and contact those currently active in the field, and see where that leads.
