      Mary E. Davis 1925 - 2011 LONGMEADOW- Mary E. (Hoar) Davis, local philanthropist, of Long-meadow, MA, and Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2011. She was born in Springfield, MA and was married to the late James E. Davis, former President of American Saw & Mfg. Company. She supported many charitable organizations throughout Hampden County as a former trustee of the Irene E. & George A. Davis Foundation. She had a passion for the Arts and was involved with the Springfield Symphony and was a Docent at the Springfield Museums. Mary was predeceased by her husband James. She is survived by her four children, John and Robyn Davis of Longmeadow, Robert Davis of Springfield, Jane and Chuck Kusek of Teton Village, WY, and Stephen Davis of Longmeadow, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of whom will always remember their wonderful Mimi as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She celebrated life and all of the people who came into her life. She was a fountain of goodness and light, possessed of a gentle caring spirit for all and for whom each day was more glorious than the day before. She will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:30 am from the Byron-Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St., Springfield, Ma, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in St. Mary's Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow, MA. Burial will follow in Longmeadow Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Friday, February 18th, from 4:00-7:00 pm. Memorial contributions in Mary's name may be made to the Springfield Museums, 220 State Street, Springfield, MA 01103.
