      Union-News (Springfield, MA) - August 16, 1990
      Deceased Name: Mary H. Curran, 79, retired policewoman
      Mary H. (Hoar) Curran, 79, of 142 Oregon St., Springfield, a former city policewoman, died on Tuesday in a local nursing home.
      She had also been a social worker for the Springfield Welfare Department.
      Born in Springfield, she attended local schools, and was graduated from the High School of Commerce. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church.
      Her husband, William T. Curran, died in 1983.
      She leaves two sons, William M. of Binghamton, N.Y. and Michael T. of Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters, M. Susan Haussler of Londonderry, N.H., and Anne C. Curran of Agawam; two brothers, Maurice "Bunty" and Edmund Hoar of Springfield, and four grandchildren.
      She was also the sister of Thomas P. Hoar, who died last March.
      The funeral will be Friday morning at T.P. Sampson Co. Liberty Street Parlors, and in the church. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
      Calling hours are this afternoon and evening. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross School, 153 Eddywood St., Springfield, 01118.
