      NORTHFIELD -- Anne E. (Hoar) Cavallaro, 79, of 171 Winchester Road, died Sunday evening (3-22-09) at Applewood Healthcare, Winchester, N.H.
      She was born in Bogota, N.J., on Oct. 8, 1929, the daughter of Edward and Agnes (Kelly) Hoar. She was a graduate of Fordham University in New York.
      She was married to Dominic Cavallaro on June 27, 1975. They moved to Northfield from Islip Terrace, N.Y., in 1976. Mr. Cavallaro predeceased her in 2002.
      She was a teacher of French and Latin and taught at several local high schools and finally at Keene (N.H.) High School for over 20 years, retiring in 2006.
      She was an active member of St. Patrick's Church in Northfield.
      She was an accomplished cook specializing in Italian dishes, and she loved animals, plants, and all of nature.
      She is survived by her son: Joseph of Syracuse, N.Y., and brothers: Thomas Hoar of Mt. Arlington, N.J., and James Howard of Lincoln Park, N.J., and sisters: Patricia Rushforth and her husband James of Fanwood, N.J., Agnes Hughes and her husband John of Bogota, N.J., Margaret MacDonald of Santa Maria, Calif., and Terri McElroy and her husband Peter of Ridgefield Park, N.J., and two grandchildren, Joseph and Cassianne Cavallaro of Syracuse, N.Y.
      Funeral services, all in Northfield, will be Wednesday (3-25-09) at 11:15 a.m. from the Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church at noon. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
      Calling hours at the funeral home are this evening (3-24-09) from 6 to 8.
