MULKERN FORMER SUPERVISOR FOR COPPER CRAFT Flora M. Mulkern, 85, formerly of Kellog and Congress streets, Portland, died Monday at a local nursing home after a long illness. Born in Madison, a daughter of Alfie and Rose LeBlanc Mazerole, Mrs. Mulkern attended Portland schools as well as Cathedral High School. For many years, she was a manufacturer's representative as well as supervisor for the New England area for Copper Craft, a copper gifts manufacturer. Mrs. Mulkern was a former member of Business and Professional Women and Falmouth Memorial Library. She was a communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Her husband, John A. Mulkern, died in 1986. Surviving are a daughter, Maureen Henry of Kent, England; three sisters, Mrs. David A. (Rita) Cremonese of Westbrook, Mrs. Leslie L. (Lillian) Hoar and Mrs. Walter H. (Jeannette) Greene, both of Portland; two brothers, Leo J. Mazerole of Auburn and George J. Dewitt of Jonesboro, Ga. Prayers will be recited at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Conroy-Tully Funeral Home, 172 State St., followed by a 9 a.m. funeral Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Mazerole, 81, of Bolster Heights and formerly of Devonshire Street, Portland, died Wednesday in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Portland, a son of Alphe and Rose LeBlanc Mazerole, attended Portland schools and graduated from the West Pembroke High School. Mr. Mazerole also attended the University of Maine and Coburn Classical Institute in Waterville. He was also a resident of Skowhegan before joining the Army. During World War II, he served in the Philippines and was captured by the Japanese after the fall of Bataan. He spent 42 months as a prisoner. Mr. Mazerole was a gardener and worked for Millers in Falmouth. He enjoyed traveling and traveled around the world three times, family members said. He was a member of the Harold T. Andrews Post, VFW, and American Legion posts. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. David (Rita) Cremonese of Westbrook, Lillian Hoar and Mrs. Walter (Jeanette) Green, both of Portland; and a brother, George DeWitt of Jonesboro, Ga. Visiting hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Conroy-Tully Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland, where prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Friday, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church.
