1842. An active and devoted lay worker for the Church at a time when such +
helpers were few. He published several volumes on Lay Cooperation in Church +
Matters, some Addresses and other works. He died from the effects of an +
accident while travelling on the Great Eastern Railway in March 1865, and is +
buried in Staplehurst Church,Kent. BLC; lists several letters, to M.P.s and one +
to the Archbishop and Bishops (1859-1862) by Henry HOARE 'banker'.
