Ningpo, China; he was Principal of the C.M.S. College, Ningpo (1976-98) and +
then Bishop of Victoria, Hong Kong (1898-1906). Drowned in a typhoon in 1906 +
travelling by boat on mission work, and trying to save his colleagues. DNB0; +
