Robert Dennis Jr. , who d. 5 June 1691, left in his Will twelve shillings to his grandchild Ruth Lawton to buy a Bible. He deeded land for a Quaker burying place "for the love I bear to the truth and the people of God which are in scorn called Quakers." (Genealogical Dictionary of RI, Austin). On the 19 Nov. 1672 he m. Sarah, dau. of Henry and Mary (Newlands) Howland of Duxbury, MA.. "att the house of Joshua Coggeshall of Portsmouth before the people of God."
