      Deceased Name: Raymond Lamoureux, AIC athlete, foreman
      PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Raymond P. Lamoureux, 78, of Port Charlotte, a 35-year foreman in the tread department of the former Uniroyal Co. plant in Chicopee, died here on Oct. 3.
      He retired in 1975.
      Born in Chicopee, he was a longtime resident before moving south in 1975. He attended Cathedral High School in Springfield, Mass., and was a graduate of Chicopee High School.
      He attended St. Bonaventure University in Bonaventure, N.Y., where he had a full scholarship. He also attended the American International College in Springfield, where he was a three-letter athlete and was on the football, crew and track teams.
      He was a Navy Seabee in the Pacific during World War II, and was stationed on Wake Island after its Japanese garrison surrendered on Sept. 4, 1945.
      He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, and belonged to the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, all in Chicopee.
      He leaves his wife, the former Elizabeth J. Hoar of Port Charlotte; two sons, Michael P. of Mattapoisett, Mass., and Raymond P. Jr. of Belgium; seven grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
      A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday morning at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Chicopee. There are no calling hours, and Tylunas Funeral Home is in charge.
