Clayton F. Hoar, 77
PORTLAND - Clayton F. Hoar, 77 years of age of Devonshire Street in Portland died Friday morning, November 23, 2007 at the Seaside Nursing Care Facility.
He was born in South Portland, on September 26, 1930 the son of Forest and Ethel Clairy Hoar. He attended schools in South Portland where he played basketball at South Portland High.
Clayton had worked several years at the Burham and Morrill Company in Portland and worked many years as a welder at South Portland Engineering which was bought by G.E.
He was a member of the Eagles in Portland and enjoyed hunting. During his younger years he had coached little league.
Clayton was predeceased by two brother, Russell and Gregory and a sister, Irene Libby.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Mace Hoar whom he married on March 4, 1949. Also surviving are three sons: Clayton and Richard Hoar both of Portland and Lee Forest also of Portland and one daughter, Patricia Hill of Portland; one sister, Mildred Coons and one brother, Stuart Orr both of South Portland; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the chapel of Independent Death Care, 471 Deering Avenue on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Brooklawn Memorial Park.
