Chester David Merriman, born at Somerville, Dec. 11, 1863.
His parents were Lyman Merriman, born at Somerville in 1822,
and Caroline Hannah Freeman Merriman, born at Somerville
in 1829. Mrs. Merriman's mother was a direct descendant
of David Freeman, one of the first settlers of Rossie. Mr.
Merriman was married on October 1, 1884, to Minnie May Carpenter,
who was born in July, 1865, and was the daughter of
George F. Carpenter whose biography appears. Mr. Merriman
is an influential farmer residing near the Rossie line on what
is known as the Ore Bed Road. Mr. and Mrs. Merriman are the
parents of Harold Arthur, Louise, Allen, Chester, Carleton,
Pauline and Isabelle.
