  Information on this family was kindly contributed by Pamela: pamelajoperkins(at)hotmail.com Email from Pamela (June 2010): Fayette Prouty Arnold died 19 Jan 1872 and left Jane Willis Arnold a widow with minor children. Helen Burton Perkins died 22 AUG 1872 and left Royal Stearns Perkins a widower with minor children. Jane and Royal got married to raise those minor children (Laura Arnold and Anson Jay Perkins). Also, apparently, they never had children together. NOTE: Royal Stearns Perkins is my 2nd great-grandfather through Anson Jay Perkins. Royal and Helen are shown in the Censuses for 1850/1860/1870 Chemung, McHenry, IL. Royal and Jane Willis Arnold Perkins are in the 1880 census.
