CARL F. HOARD
Carl F. Hoard, 74, of Gladwin, died suddenly, Thursday, March 20, 1997 at his home. Born July 7, 1922 in Wheeler, he was a lifetime Gladwin resident. Carl marriedVerdona (Darling) Hoard March 21, 1952 in Angola, Ind. He was a veteran ofthe U.S. Army in World War II. He was employed by Wolverine and DeShano Construction and Hillard Drilling, retiring in 1985. He was a member of VFW 7303, Gladwin. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Steve and wife Becky of Lansing, James and wife Diana of Gladwin; two daughters, Debbie and husband Larry Crawford and Diane and husband Jon Smith, all of Gladwin; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Crawford in 1995, two sisters and two brothers.Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel, with the Rev. Father Julius A. Spleet officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Gladwin. Special military graveside services were held by VFW Post 7303.
