GEORGIANNA LYDIA HORR
One of Orwell's oldest residents, Georgianna Lydia Horr, passed away Monday evening, February 24, 1930.
Mrs. Horr was born July 21, 1841 at Pierrepont Manor and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George N. Brown. August 19, 1862 she was married to W.S. Horr, a veteran of the Civil War. Three daughters were born to them, Hattie, Frances Estella and Rosey B.
Most of Mrs. Horr's early life was spent in Mannsville and vicinity. About twenty-three years ago she moved to Orwell, where her husband died on January 18, 1907. For several years she has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Giles Stevens.
She was a former member of the Women's Relief Corp of Sandy Creek, a member of the Home Missionary Society, the Foreign Missionary Society and the Willing Worker's Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Horr is survived by her daughter Mrs. Giles Stevens; two granddaughters, Mrs. Jas. Templeton of Binghamton, Mrs. Carroll Nelson of Rome; two great grandchildren, and one sister; Mrs. R.P. Williams, Belleville.
Funeral services were held at her late home, February 27, at 2 p.m., Rev. T.T. Davies officiating.
Mrs. Horr was held in high esteem by all who knew her and her sunny smile and words of cheer and encouragement will be missed by her many friends.
