- [[Notes for ELYTHE "Lee" EATON:
5ft. 4 inches tall. Enjoyed music and played piano and had a very good voice. A very good dancer. Worked mostly as a waitress and cook. Hazel eyes and med. brown hair. Very intelligent but only a 9th grade education. Very articulate and well read. A sweet and kind person. died in a fire when her home burned.
She told a story of walking home home from school and a big dog come out of the woods (This is on the old homestead in Booner Ferry, Idaho) and walked along with her. Grandad (William O.) saw her and ran in the house and got his gun. When they neared the house the dog (which was in reality a timber wolf) took off for the woods.
Mom use to read from my library books aloud while I ate my breakfast. This was so that I could get through my books faster for book reports. She also enjoyed doing it. It was our together time as she was usually at work when I arrived home from school.
