Deceased Name: JAMES M. HOAR JR.
GLOUCESTER - James Melvin Hoar Jr., 94, who retired from the Portsmouth NavalShipyard, died Monday, Nov. 29.
Mr. Hoar served for 11 years with the Coast Guard. The native of East Machias, Maine, was a member of Saint Andrews Masonic Lodge, Portsmouth, N.H., for 61 years.
Survived by his wife, Hazel G. Hoar; two daughters, Jacquelyn Pittman of Gloucester and Helen Rice of Portland, Maine; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside memorial service at a later date in Jacksonville Cemetery, Jacksonville, Maine.
