It was with great sadness that the many friends of Delaware Division Conductor Jno. W. Hoar learned of the death of this well-known and respected Erie employe. Mr. Hoar passed away at his home at No. 34 Hammond Street, Port Jervis, at 8:00 P.M. February 15th (1913), after a long illness. He was 57 years of age. Deceased was born November 1st, 1855, at Cadosia, N.Y., and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Hoar. In 1871 he came to Port Jervis and entered the service of the Erie Railroad Company, where he remained until illness necessitated his taking leave of absence. He was prominent in railroad circles and was a member of Neversink Division, No. 52, 0. of R.C. The surviving relatives are his widow, two sons and one brother, Delaware Division Conductor James Hoar of Port Jervis.
