      during the Gordon riots' and 'A memoir of Samuel Hoare. By Hannah Hoare, his +
      widow, written August 1825'. .. Samuel Hoare died on 13 July 1825, and the +
      widow is Hannah (nee STERRY) his second wife and Sarah his eldest daughter who +
      died unmarried. He purchased Cliffe House, Cromer in 1801 from Dr Sydney Terry, +
      who had built the Doctor's Steps to the beach which were demolished durng World +
