Label
YOUR full first (given) and last (family) or surname as a member of the group and owner of this login. NOT the name of your genetic tester, if not you. That will be specified later. Include a middle initial or name, if you prefer. This name is not parsed (computer scanned or processed). Multi-part names common in some cultures are fine. If the name is determined inaccurate by administrators, it could cause your account to be removed. Either a birth or currently-known-as name is fine if that helps avoid confusion (that is, this is genealogy so a married surname is not required).
*
Label
Capture the country of residence of a user. (May be duplicated from a standard user field and dropped in later revisions.)
*
Label
General location (usually city, state) of a user within a country (mostly for and idea of the timezone but also just to provide friendly information for other registered users)
Label
The URL for an online genealogical tree from this user. General a GEDCom-style information such as families, individuals, places, facts and events. Rootswebm Ancestry, MyHeritage, geni.com or similar. Including your own software / site using WebTrees or TNG could be here also. If a combined, “world” tree like WeRelate or FamilySearch, make a direct link into the family or individual that is closest to you.
Label
The URL to a website that captures your general family research. Sometimes simply a blog, rootsweb general pages or similar descriptive site; not focused on dates, facts and events like the DB link of before.
Label
(Full) name and any BMD details (date, location) used to identify the head of a patrilineal branch that is the reason you are joining this project. If more than one for you, pick the most important or relevant one you wish to use as the primary. If already a branch in this site, try and use the same information already there. For example, “Hezekiah Hoar b1608 Sidmouth, Devon England”
Label
A comma separated list of names giving your pedigree. Starting from yourself and on up to the last ancestor you want kept private to members only. List a full name for each generation along with a birth or death year, if desired (for example, b.1856 or d.1894). Append an (l) or (f) to indicate living and/or female members. This is normally a patrilineal pedigree in a surname project so understanding those not carrying the Y chromosome in the pedigree is important. This portion of the pedigree is only visible by other, registered members. List YOUR pedigree, not that of your DNA tester. This pedigree, along with the Real Name field, if falsified, could lead to your denial or dismissal from the group.
Label
A comma separated list of names giving your pedigree. Starting from the parent of where you left off on Pedigree-Private on up to the Earliest Known Ancestor (EKA) given above. Generally, starting with deceased ancestors who were born before 1900. List a full name for each generation along with a birth or death year, if desired (for example, b.1856 or d.1894). Append an (f) to indicate female members. This is normally a patrilineal pedigree in a surname project so understanding those not carrying the Y chromosome in the pedigree is important. List YOUR pedigree, not that of your DNA tester. This pedigree, along with the Real Name field, if falsified, could lead to your denial or dismissal from the group. This field is visible to everyone who visits the website and associated with your chosen user name there.
