      CLARENCE E. CRANDALL, 93, of 10A Crandall Ave., Ashaway, superintendent of the Oak Grove and the 1st. Hopkinton Cemeteries for 50 years, died Monday at The Westerly Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dorith (Horr) Crandall.
      Born in Hopkinton, he was a son of the late Herbert and Amelia (Kenyon) Crandall.
      Mr. Crandall was a dairy farmer for many years and delivered raw milk in Ashaway. He dug graves at the local cemeteries until he was more than 80 years old.
      He served as a trustee of the 1st. Hopkinton Cemetery. He was a member of the 1st. Hopkinton 7th-Day Baptist Church of Ashaway, and served as a deacon, treasurer and custodian.
      Mr. Crandall leaves two daughters, Gwendolyn Bowyer of Ashaway, and Maitland Fothergill of Cumberland; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. He was brother of the late Tacy Crandall Saretzki.
      The funeral will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the 1st. Hopkinton 7th-Day Baptist Church, Church Street. Burial will be in the 1st. Hopkinton Cemetery.
