The family og F. M. VanGelder went to Prattsburg on. Sept. 8 to attend the fortieth
anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Early, the: parents of Mrs. VanGelder.
They report a very enjoyable occasion,there being about seventy-five guests present. An ample and delicious repast was served at 2 p. m. The Prattsburg band .was present, and rendered some very fine selections, of music. Mr and Mrs. Early also received several very substantial tokens of remembrance and respect from their children and relatives.

Mrs. Betsey J . Early.
Mrs. Betsey J.Early, wife of Thom
as Early, died at ber home two miles
southwest of Prattsburgh village
Monday evening at 7 o'clock.
Mrs. Early was a daughter of the
late A pet ton Horr, and was born in
Prattsburgh Dec. 9th, 1830.
Mr. and Mrs. Early were the parents
of five daughters and one son,
; the latter having died about twenty
years ago, and the second daughter,
Mrs. Gotlop (Lydia) Meeker, dying
but a few years ago in Hammonds-
port. The remaining children are
Mrs. F. M. (Rubie) VanGelder, Mrs.
Will (Mary) Neff, Mrs. James (Kitt)
Merritt, and Mrs. Charles (Fannie)
Ringrose, all of this place.
Mrs. Early was a horne body and
an earnest and faithful Christian
woman, and those who were fortonate
in being ber neighbors and
friends feel that they have sustained
a great loss.
