    BRADLEY J. HOARD
    (September 7, 1928 - June 8, 2012)
    Bradley James Hoard, 83, of Malta, Illinois, died Friday, June 8, 2012, at home.
    Born September 7, 1928, in New Auburn, Wisconsin, the son of Glen and Mary (McCarty) Hoard, he was united in marriage to Doris Watson on January 29, 1949, in DeKalb. They have made their home in Malta for 63 years.
    He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many, both young and old, but, most especially, he lived for and loved his grandchildren.
    Bradley was a veteran of the US Navy. He was employed at Wurlitzer in DeKalb, and then at Northern Illinois University as an electrician and retired from NIU after 26 years.
    Brad was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Doris; his children, Greg (Lea Ann) Hoard of Mayville, Wisconsin, Patrick Hoard of DeKalb and Susan (Martin) Griess of Wilmington, North Carolina; his brother, Gary Hoard of Chetek, Wisconsin; his sister, Margaret Olson of New Auburn, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Sean (Jennifer) Griess of Durham, North Carolina, Jason Griess of Wilmington, North Carolina, Melanie Stock of Woodstock, Luke Hoard of Columbus, Wisconsin, Justin Hoard of Mayville, Wisconsin, Jake Hoard of Osh Kosh, Wisconsin, Isabella Hoard of DeKalb and Nathan Hoard of DeKalb; his great-grandchild, Collin Stock of Woodstock; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Mary Hoard; and brother, Robert Hoard.
    Memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, with military honors following, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
