Obituary:
Died at age 88 yrs. Mr. Hoard was born at Miltonvale, the son of Andrew and Minnie (Smith)
Hoard.
He was a WWII Army veteran and a member of the F.C. Hill Memorial
Wesleyan Church of Miltonvale. He was retired maintenacne from Cloud
Ceramics in Concordia. He was preceded in death by one daughter.
Survivors include his wife Leona of Miltonvale; four sons, Dennis Hoard
and wife Carolyn of Randolph, Clavin Burke and wife Lena of Bennington,
Andrew Hoard of Concordia, Timothy Hoard and wife Dianne of McPherson;
five daughters, Judy and husband Tom Scanlon of Gypsum, Janet May of
Salina, Joanne and husband Mike Platz of Tacoma, Wash., Sharon and
husband Wilbur Noon of Minneapolis, Sharlene and husband Rick Calvert of
Phillipsburg; four brothers, Andy Hoard, Jr. of Smith Center, Keith Hoard
of Oxford, Neb., Floyd Hoard of Lakeview, Colo., Dean Hoard of Fort
Collins, Colo.; four sisters, Martha Olson of Miltonvale, Bertha Howe of
Greeley, Colo., Evelyn Rafferty of Blue Springs, Mo., Jean Taylor of
Concordia; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-
granddaugter.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at F.C. Hill Memorial
Wesleyan Church in Miltonvale
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Phelps Funeral Home
in Miltovale, with family present from 7 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Shirley Marsh Memorial Fund in care of the
funeral home.
